Introduction
To evaluate the feasibility of integrating railway systems and photovoltaic power generation in China, this paper analyzes the geographical conditions and railway layout of China, gives a potential method for evaluating railway asset energy transformation. China launched its first railway project integrating renewable energy at the end of September. The 303-kilometre-long demonstration route is part of the Baoshen Railway, a freight line for very heavy cargo which runs just over 1,000 km from Shenmu in Shaanxi province to Baotou in Inner Mongolia. It. To ensure stable and continuous power supply and increase the self-consumption rate of electricity generated by the photovoltaic system in Shenzhenbei Railway Station, Vision provided a 0.5MW/1MWh air-cooled energy storage system to help the photovoltaic power consumption and peak shaving and. This system represents China’s first project to achieve deep integration of renewable energy generation with railway power supply. Its successful implementation not only provides valuable experience for renewable energy deployment in China’s “Three North” regions (Northeast, North, and Northwest. Latest data indicates that by the end of 2024, the cumulative installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic power generation will reach 370 million kilowatts, a staggering 121 times the level at the end of 2013, accounting for 42% of the total installed photovoltaic capacity. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA)’s forecast, China will fully electrify its railway system by 2050. However, the development of electrified railways is limited in the weak areas of China’s power grid. To surpass these limitations, we turn our attention to new railway energy.
